Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim has likened the charge against PKR’s director of strategy Rafizi Ramli to a personal vendetta by premier Najib Abdul Razak, in retaliation for the revelations that have been made.
By continuously exposing scandals for months, (Rafizi) has (created) powerful enemies and now they are using whatever is at their disposal,” he said in a statement today.
“This is Najib’s personal vendetta being played out by the various government agencies, (as) a smokescreen to (frighten) Malaysians trying to unearth the truth behind contracts and cronyism involving BN leaders.”
Rafizi has been at the fore in exposing alleged abuse of a RM250 million soft loan by the National Feedlot Corporation, which resulted in its boss being prosecuted and his wife Shahrizat Abdul Jalil being dropped from cabinet.
Rafizi also claimed to have proof that Najib had the award of the Ampang LRT extension project in favour of George Kent (Malaysia) Bhd. An officially announcement of the award was made yesterday.
Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said the state is prepared to finance the legal costs that Rafizi and former Public Bank clerk Johari Mohamed will incur in answering their respective charges.
S’gor to help fund legal cost
In a press release Khalid said the Selangor government will fight corruption at every level, and that the state will set up a special fund to help finance Rafizi’s legal costs.
Rafizi and Johari (in tangerine coloured t-shirt) were today charged in the Shah Alam Sessions Court with exposing details of four financial accounts held by Public Bank in relation to the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC).
The accounts were identified as the customer profiles of NFC, Meatworks and Livestocks Sdn Bhd, Agroscience Sdn Bhd and Mohd Salleh Ismail, who is NFC chairperson.
PKR deputy president Azmin Ali said it seems that Umno and BN are using various methods to cover up abuse of power.
“It shows that (they) are desperate … . I believe Malaysians will be united in rejecting corruption and abuse of power. PKR urges the rakyat to (unite in support of) Rafizi and urge that he is given a fair trial,” he added.
The AG and federal government are insulting the intelligence of all Malaysians who had been up in arms against the rampant and gross corruptions in our country and involving lawmakers and their cronies. UMNO leaders did not show any sign of repentant even during Ramadan, a holy month for Muslims worldwide, by persecuting and prosecuting fellow Muslim Malaysians for exposing the corrupt and corrupt practices.
Christians throughout the nation must hold a special prayer for Rafizi Ramli and his family and make a strong stand against the shameful act of the AG and UMNO controlled BN government.

If Rafizi and Johari are the leader of BN than both will be fine. This is a political arreat !!! Rafizi and Johari, all Malaysian will be your backup, we will support your all the way, don’t give up !!!
