This case is going to be heard at Kuching High Court on August 8th, 2011. This civil court proceeding is scheduled to last a week.

Named as defendants in the civil suit are Quality Concrete Sdn Bhd the timber concession holder, Loyal Billion Sdn Bhd the logging contractor, 2 government appointed community leaders Penghulu Merum anak Babu and Ketua Kampung Agu anak Kaleng, together with the Director of Forest and the Sarawak State Government.

The Sebuyau and Sebangan Ibans still need your moral and financial support to fight against illegal loggers. . Your contributions will pay for the legal expenses and the cost of transportation, lodging, and food for Sebangan villagers who will be attending the proceeding in Kuching.

We desperately need your support to save our NCR heritages and our prestine environment. We hope that you care enough to stop further destruction of our native lands, rivers and forests of Borneo. The land and forest is our life line, our means of survival, without land and forests, we the Dayaks, the natives of Borneo, we have nothing left and we are on the path of extinction.

  1. YB See Chee How,

Where are you after you won the seat in Batu Lintang Constituency, asked the people of Poh Kwong Park. Are you hiding somewhere and not anywhere near Poh Kwong Park, listening to the problems of the people who voted you in. Which day and time of the month would be scheduled to be at Poh Kwong Park so that monthly if not weekly, the people can see you who is paid to do your duties?

  3. Malaysians will be more than willing to contribute to our native brothers and sisters in distress and we hope a committee is set up not only to raise money to challenge the government in court but also to educate the rural folks on how and why they must start voting with their own conscience and without fear of reprisal. We hope all NCR landowners will also turn up in Kuching on August 13 to march for democracy and reforms if they are serious about helping themselves and their community to protect their Native land rights.

    • ‘Bang Rosli, this has been done already!

My brother Numpang and my Sebangan relatives are well organized and we did get some financial support from friends and relatives. However, this struggle and numerous court battles that is already entering it second year, had depleted our resources and we do need any financial contribution for those who care and want to help. Please go to my blog site: http://sebangan.blogspot.com/ to contribute or click on that huge lettered link above that says “Save the Sebangan Rainforest Website.”

You can use your credit using PayPal or directly deposit to an account that have been set up for this purpose. In Malaysia, donations can be deposited into Save Sebangan Rainforest, Numpang Suntai is the account holder with Public Bank Berhad Account Number 4503100701.

      Thanks so much!

  4. There is nothing we can do about relatives supporting BN but there are relatives also who are with us in this struggle. You do not need to tell us about Ibans’ mentality in Sarawak. We already knew that. How about contributing to the cause with money? Thanks!
