Jedi prophecy as against the RAHMAN prophecy

The latest and long-awaited Star Wars film had its premiere on Dec 14 in America, and Dec 17 in England. The film is called “The Force Awakens”.

Malaysians will not be outdone. We have our own drama. It is not science fiction, but pure terror – cerita hantu mixed with adventure, and criminal acts of embezzlement and murder.

Perhaps, also a tinge of romance, with plenty of betrayal and supernatural phenomena. The Malaysian movie is called “The Farce Awakens.”

There are six observations to make from Malaysia’s “The Farce Awakens”.

1. “The Force Awakens” is set 30 years after “Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983). George Lucas is the creator of Star Wars and sold his rights to Disney.

“The Farce Awakens” opened in Malaysia on Dec 11 at the 2015 Umno Baru General Assembly (GA), 27 years since the formation of Umno Baru, in 1988.

The original Umno was formed in 1946, but irregularities in voting, during party president Mahathir Mohamad’s time, were challenged in court, in 1987. The High Court declared the party illegal. Undeterred, Mahathir created a new party, Umno Baru, in 1988.

Mahathir is the creator of Umno Baru and Najib Abdul Razak is the current caretaker. They traded our democratic rights, for their absolute rule.

2. Star Wars aficionados have waited three decades for “The Force Awakens”, a thrilling performance of sci-fi drama, intrigue and adventure.

The same cannot be said about “The Farce Awakens”. Malaysians consider “The Farce Awakens” to be a living nightmare.

Decades of political farce have taken a toll on society, the economy, our international image and future generations of Malaysians.

3. In Star Wars, “The Chosen One” is the young Anakin Skywalker, who according to Jedi prophecy will bring balance to ‘The Jedi Force’.

Anakin started off as a good Jedi, but he was seduced to the dark side, by an older, wizened politician, the Emperor Palpatine. Anakin became the evil Darth Vader.

The Jerlun Umno Baru division vice-chief, Othman Aziz, started The Farce, during the GA. He described Najib as “The Chosen One”, who was chosen by God to lead Malaysia and become its sixth PM.

One is not sure what Othman is insinuating. Perhaps, he has not seen Star Wars. The parallels are uncanny.

4. “The Force Awakens” is a continuation of the adventures of Luke Skywalker, who is Anakin’s son, Han Solo and Leioa Organa.

“The Farce Awakens” is a continuation of the nightmare perpetrated by Umno Baru and its leaders; it is best not to name them, in case it upsets ‘The Force’ within them.

5. Jedi master and Anakin’s trainer, Obi-Wan-Kenobi, said that the Jedi knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic, before the formation of The Empire.

Isn’t this similar to the founders of the original Umno party? They were once respected guardians of peace and justice in Malaya, and later Malaysia, till the takeover by the dark side.

6. Star Wars is a tragedy about “The Chosen One”, Darth Vader. It is also a story about the cycle of good and bad, the influence of evil, and whether good can overcome the dark side.

It is also a tale of the rise, fall and redemption of “The Chosen One”, Darth Vader, who sacrifices himself and returns balance to The Jedi Force.

You can make your own interpretations about the parallels between the Jedi prophecy and the RAHMAN prophecy, or ask Othman Said about the tales of “The Chosen One” in “The Farce Awakens”.

May the Farce be with you!
