Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has confirmed that there will be another meeting with Petronas this Saturday.
He said the meeting would be a follow-up of their previous meeting on Monday following the state government’s decision to issue a moratorium on all new applications for work permits for Petronas employees from outside Sarawak working in the state.
“The Monday meeting was very fruitful. There were many issues that we discussed effectively and that is why we need to have another meeting to find ways and means to solve whatever issues there are,” he told reporters at a dinner for participants of the 15th International Peat Congress here Wednesday.
He advised members of the public to stop all the speculations on the matter.
“No need to speculate. The state government under Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem is striving hard to solve the issue.
“Please be patient and wait as the state government is trying its best to solve the issue. I can see that Petronas is also positively looking at the issue,” he said.
