Although Malaysians have been caught up with Pokemon Go fever, the pressure is on to catch the Malaysian Official 1 mentioned in US court documents, says a DAP member.
Raja Ahmad Iskandar Fareez, the DAP Socialist Youth representative at the Tangkap Malaysian Official 1 rally today, told a crowd of rally-goers:
“Malaysia is having a fever thanks to 1MDB. Instead of catching Pokemons, it is better to catch MO1. It is our right to rise up and fight MO1.”
Raja Ahmad Iskandar said Malaysians were fortunate because students were rising up at the TangkapMO1 rally.
“Malaysian Official 1” is mentioned in court documents filed by the US Department of Justice to seize assets allegedly bought with funds embezzled from 1Malaysia Development Berhad.
A group of students then said they would organise a rally to urge that the authorities identify and arrest “Malaysian Official 1” whom opposition politicians have named as being Prime Minister Najib Razak.
Rally organisers planned to gather at Dataran Merdeka. Police had cordoned off the square because City Hall has not given permission as the rally would coincide with National Day rehearsals.
