Minister: Sexual abuse allegations ‘unfair’ to Kazim Elias

Filed under: Politics — Hornbill Unleashed @ 7:01 AM

Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said making sexual abuse allegations against Datuk Mohammad Kazim Elias was unfair because it would only give a bad impression on the preacher and the school, Maahad Tahfiz Darul Baraqah. — Picture by Saw Siow FengThe people should cease making allegations of sexual abuse in connection with a religious school owned by Datuk Mohammad Kazim Elias as it was unfair to the celebrity preacher, said Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.

He said such allegations would only give a bad impression on the preacher and the school, Maahad Tahfiz Darul Baraqah.

“Let the police complete their investigations into the case,” he told reporters after opening the Beruas Umno delegates meeting here today.

Claims that several new students of the school were implicated in a sexual assault (sodomy), had recently gone viral in social media.

Mohammad Kazim has lodged a police report over the allegations.

Earlier, Mahdzir, who is also Umno Supreme Council member said in his speech he was confident that Umno had its own strength to face the 14th General Election despite the many challenges.

“As the people have also pledged to support the leadership of Prime Minister and Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak, I urge everyone to continue the fight,” he added.

  3. Does he mean that those who said they were sexually abused should shut up to protect the “good” name of someone? is that fair to those abused? This case came to light because someone said they were abused, not just mere allegations by the public.

  4. who to protect,?? the religious fool that is causing lasting injury to innocent children or protect the children.?? even hints of deviant child abuse behavior should be grounds for closing the “school”. why try to protect a child molester?
