PAS: If Najib is MO1, are monies in his account 1MDB funds?

Filed under: Politics — Hornbill Unleashed @ 9:01 PM

PAS wants BN strategic communications director Abdul Rahman Dahlan to follow up his open admission that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is Malaysian Official 1 (MO1), with an answer if monies in the PM’s personal account are actually 1MDB funds.

“Confirmed, Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) is the PM. Money in his account, Arab donation or 1MDB funds?” asked party deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, in a statement today.

As long as Abdul Rahman is on his revelation streak, Tuan Ibrahim said that he should also reveal if it is true that the monies banked into Najib’s personal accounts were 1MDB funds, and the tales of the Arab prince donor are hogwash.

He also asked if Abdul Rahman’s revelations in an interview with British broadcaster BBC, were made with the sanction of the Malaysian cabinet and most importantly, the PM himself.

Tuan Ibrahim also wondered if Abdul Rahman’s revelations hint that there is basis for the civil forfeiture proceedings by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), to seize assets allegedly bought with stolen 1MDB funds.

The PAS deputy president added that this should be good news to the newly appointed Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief Dzulkifli Ahmad, who is on a graft busting streak with multiple arrests and corruption prosecutions these last few weeks.

“The MACC must reopen its investigation into 1MDB and the ‘donation’ into the PM’s personal account and investigate the DOJ claims so that we can avoid foreign interference in our internal matters. The commission should also call upon attorney general Mohamed Apandi Ali to re-evaluate the case,” said Tuan Ibrahim.

He added that he is certain that all will support the MACC if it were to reopen the cases, and it would go a long way to shrug off allegations that the commission is only catching shrimps while ignoring the sharks.

Rafidah: Those in authority must act

And now that the cat is out of the bag, so to speak, former minister Rafidah Aziz said that no more time should be wasted in the present Umno civil war, as it was time for all to focus on resolving the matter, to move forward once and for all.

“Malaysians are very united, I am certain, in wanting justice to be meted out according to the laws and regulations… and united in wanting to see the issue resolved properly, expeditiously… and without fear and favour.

“We know the facts and details. Those with the authority and responsibility… please act… in the national interest…” she said in a Facebook posting.

“Focus on the real issues, the issues and nothing else but the issues. Time to take the 1MDB bull by the horns.

“Then… this country can begin to regain the respect it deserves… and we can begin to take the steps forward into our next decade of our independence, with our heads held high…” concluded the former minister.

Abdul Rahman was quoted by the BBC today confirming that the MO1 mentioned 36 times in the DOJ civil suit is Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

However, he contended that the PM was not named because he was not involved in the case, as only those named are being targeted for alleged offences, including Najib’s step-son film producer Riza Aziz, and controversial financier Jho Low.

  1. Don’t ask stupid question and expect a stupid answer. Just lodge a police report as a responsible Muslim leader.

    • PAS leaders are hypocrites and they will not dare to lodge police and MACC reports against Najib and 1MDB because they have been bribed by none other than Najib himself.
