‘We can’t stop Umno members, who belong to NGOs, taking part’

Filed under: Politics — Hornbill Unleashed @ 8:01 AM

noh-omar-jamal-yunos-1Selangor Umno has no right to stop members from going to the planned rally at Dataran Merdeka tomorrow if they go there in their personal capacity or as members of NGOs, said its liaison committee chief Noh Omar today.

“This matter has to be isolated and understood. You must differentiate between members of a political party and an NGO because NGOs have their own objectives.

“In this matter, we (Selangor Umno) are clear. It is true Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos is Sungai Besar Umno division leader, but he is also a leader of an NGO (Red Shirts).”

He said this when asked whether Selangor Umno would allow its members to participate by either joining Bersih or the Red Shirts at the rally planned for tomorrow.

Noh, who is also urban wellbeing, housing and local government minister, spoke after opening a conference on environmental health at his ministry here today.

The conference aims to identify problems on environmental health and draw up guidelines, as well as resolutions, for the ministry to bring up to the National Council on Local Government.

  1. Any rally and civil movement for change is by nature opposed to BN. Only idiots like your jamal would make a fool of himself parading as an ngo rallying in support of BN wrongs. Now as for the opposition, they are also opposed to BN (except PAS, and we know why, wink2). This is all fact. Doesn’t mean bersih=opposition, that argument is just pure idiotic.

  2. Every school children know the red shirts are mostly Umno Baru members and they were paid to cause chaos and counter Bersih which had been demanding for electoral reforms and good governance . There is no proper channel anymore in this nation to discuss, mismanagement, power abuse and blatant corruption in the government and public institutions. MPs were harassed and arrested for speaking up even in Parliament.

  3. The ‘REDs’ are like fallen leaves, they eventually, wither away. UMNO education have brought about a new breed of Melayu repugnant parasites. A once proud race became dorks of the world. Sad, very sad.
