What would you do if you were stuck in a traffic jam for hours? Instead of moaning or a tedious game of ‘I Spy’, motorists in China decided on going for a dance.
The Telegraph of UK reported that the video capturing a group of dancing women entertaining those stuck in the jam in northern China has racked up millions of hits online.
They were filmed performing a ‘square dance’ routine on the motorway, with heavy fog causing long tailbacks on roads.
State media praised the women but did not reference the song, reportedly a 1990s satirical Cantopop song about Hong Kong being returned to China.
According to the South China Morning Post, the dance routine has been widely praised on social media.
One complimented the group for “transforming the sorrow brought by the traffic jam into the happiness of dancing”.
“They can absorb the smog for the country and do exercise, killing two birds with one stone,” another reportedly commented, reported The Telegraph.
