Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi opening the Annual General Meeting of the Felda Youth Council, March 3, 2017, Kuala Lumpur. — Bernama picFelda settlers have been urged to support the Barisan Nasional (BN) so that it can win back six ‘Felda parliamentary seats’ in the 14th general election (GE14).

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said to achieve this, BN needs a more systematic strategy to win over the voters in Felda schemes.

“We want to win back six seats lost to the opposition. We won 54 (parliamentary seats comprising Felda schemes) and lost six,” he said when opening the 7th annual general meeting of Felda Youth Council here, today.

Zahid said since Felda is an agency and a national asset, it is not spared from the lies of certain parties.

“Felda has constraints and is not perfect. With Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad as Felda chairman, I am very confident that he can transform Felda.” Ahmad Zahid said Felda has been through the process of urbanisation and is among the best models in the world.

“We want a policy of urbanisation not only in terms of social mobility or migration to urban areas but also to urbanise Felda schemes.” He urged Felda’s second and third generation to become major supporters of the urbanisation of Felda schemes.

  1. PR wants to KO BN and bury it alive … if fuel price continues to rise + cost of living continues to shoot up + corruption cases continue to pop up + ringgit continues to slide down … God knows what will become of the nation.

  2. Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, do you think the greater Rakyat are stupid to believe you when you claim that your former Federal Minister of rural and regional development Mohd Shafie Apdal had ambitions to be the chief minister of Sabah when he only contested a parliamentary seat and became the Semporna MP? Shafie had not contested in a state seat in Sabah so how did he choose to or wanted you as Umno president and PM to appoint him as the chief minister of Sabah? We know Shafie left your Umno party and is now the Parti Warisan Sabah president and is in opposition to your Umno-BN federal and state governments. Najib Razak, your fear of losing in the coming GE14 has got you blabbering fairly stupidly.
