This comes amid calls for Selangor PAS state executive councillors to resign from their posts after the Islamist party formally cut ties with PKR last week.

PKR president and Opposition leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the message has already been conveyed to the president of the Kelantan State Leadership Council.

“PKR has made a decision that all political appointments in Kelantan to resign from their respective posts effective immediately,” she told reporters outside the PKR headquarters tonight.

This comes after PAS’ Syura Council severed ties with PKR, which put an end to political cooperation from the Islamist party with other Opposition parties.

She also said that PAS’s position within the Selangor had been discussed and will be decided once state Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali returned from his overseas trip.

PAS’s ultimate decision-making Syura Council formally sealed the proposal to sever ties with PKR on May 11, which then cast a scrutiny on its party’s representatives in the PKR-led Selangor government.

Currently, three PAS leaders hold state executive council positions in Selangor, alongside PKR and DAP members.

The PAS trio Datuk Iskandar Samad, Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi, and Zaidy Abdul Talib asserted that they would like to serve out their appointments as mandated, for the full term, which will expire in June next year.

  1. PAS is now complaining of being sodomised by UMNO Baru. Several of its leaders in Kelantan had accused UMNO Baru of being the mastermind behind the transfer of voters in Kelantan which may reduce the Taliban party’s chance of retaining power in next election. Who is playing whose backside now? Hadi Awang and several Ulamas who were bought over by UMNO Baru will be burying their own party.

    • Pakatan Harapan leaders and Malay voters should not be fooled by Hadi Awang ‘s politics of deceit. Openly PAS leaders might appear to be accusing Umno Baru of stabbing them in the back or being the mastermind behind the transfer of votes in Kelantan. They might also appear to be unhappy with the EC and questioning Najib about Bandar Tun Razak but in reality they had already agreed to work together to form the next government with or without MIC, Gerakan and MCA. Have we ever heard PAS leaders demanding Najib come clean on the 1MDB and SRC International financial scandals??
