However, PKR Sarawak chief Baru Bian has yet to reveal the name, only saying that the candidate has been busy working on the ground.

“We (PKR Sarawak) already have somebody there (in Puncak Borneo) — he has been working very hard on the ground,” he told reporters after the press conference on the objection to the Tourism Tax Bill 2017 at PKR headquarters here on Saturday, chaired by PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Baru, who is Ba Kelalan assemblyman, said the party welcomed the decision by state DAP to give way to PKR in Puncak Borneo, which was in line and consistent with the decision reached by the opposition parties for the parliamentary polls in 2013.

“We (PKR) welcome the decision by DAP to allow PKR to contest in Puncak Borneo.”

Adding on, Baru said PKR Sarawak had submitted its list of candidates for GE14 to the election committee at federal level, but had yet to receive the final outcome.

Meanwhile, Dr Wan Azizah said PKR had an informal meeting on the candidates for Sarawak to contest in the next general election.

  1. Why Dayaks must no longer support the Umno Baru controlled BN without questioning their poor performance and empty promises after 53 years. BN Sarawak as the state government for over 53 years had extinguished our autonomous rights under MA63. All the past and present cabinet had voted blindly and obediently, leading to the erosion and even the demise of our autonomous rights. All the rhetoric of Sarawak for all Sarawakians were nothing but hollow noises. The only Malaya based party that had robbed and stolen Sarawak resources and assets was Umno Baru but with the consent of PBB, PRS, SUPP, UPP and SPDP.. In GE 14 all Dayaks must get rid of Najib and Umno Baru controlled BN.

  2. Pakatan Harapan coalition leadership cannot afford to be perceived as having no principles and cannot be trusted. It is good that the respective party and its leaders adhere to what had been agreed upon among themselves.
