GE14: Maybe I’ll stand in Putrajaya, says Mahathir

mahathir_putrajaya_newDr Mahathir Mohamad has not ruled out the possibility of contesting in Putrajaya, the nation’s administrative capital which was built during his tenure as prime minister, in the coming general election (GE14).

“Yes, maybe I will stand in Putrajaya,” the PPBM chairman said when met at the party’s headquarters here this evening.

Last year, Amanah suggested that the former prime minister stand in Putrajaya.

Putrajaya Amanah member Mohd Radzi Abu Bakar said then that Mahathir was a more suitable candidate than Husam Musa, who had contested for the seat as the PAS candidate in GE13.

“Tun Mahathir is generally known as the ‘master planner and architect’ who succeeded in developing Putrajaya into a landmark of success in terms of Malaysia’s development,” Mohd Radzi said.

In GE13, Husam only managed to secure 4,402 votes and lost to Umno’s Tengku Adnan Mansor, who garnered 9,943 votes.

  1. I hope our civil servants are capable of separating facts from lies and they can also see through Najib’s attempt to gain their support by fallaciously fusing the government and the ruling party together as an inseparable entity, amidst a web of lies.

The opposition has proven in Selangor and Penang that they are clean, competent and fair to all and there is no reason why it cannot govern the country in like manner.

The civil service is perhaps the most powerful bloc of voters, and we trust that they will do what is right for the country in the coming general election.
