The meeting will take place at the caretaker prime minister’s official residence Seri Perdana, starting at 9am.

“My guess is that the prime minister wants to thank them for their loyalty to the Barisan Nasional and service to the nation,” Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri Dr James Masing confirmed today.

He said the meeting does not only involve the 25 incumbent members of parliament from the Sarawak Barisan Nasional, elected in 2013, but also from other states as well.

He said the meeting is not about presenting them with Letters of Authority to contest in the coming 14th general election (GE14).

“That is a separate issue and will be done at a later date,” the deputy chief minister explained to Malay Mail.

Meanwhile, Masing confirmed that PRS will be fielding two new faces, a deputy public prosecutor (DPP) and a former head of the legal division of the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA), from the party to stand on the Barisan Nasional’s ticket in the May 9 GE14.

Masing, however, declined to reveal where they will be fielding, but it is believed that the DPP, who is also based in Sabah, will replace incumbent Datuk William Nyallau Badak in Lubok Antu while the other, a woman, will likely stand in Selangau, replacing Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun.

“This is the first time that we will be fielding a woman as our candidate in a parliamentary election,” he said.

He said that the names of the two new faces from PRS will be announced by Najib later, along with the names of candidates from all the component parties of the Barisan Nasional.

He said PRS has decided to retain the other four incumbents — Datuk Masir Kujat (Sri Aman), Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong (Hulu Rajang), Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum (Julau) and Datuk Aaron Dagang (Kanowit) — to defend their respective seats.

  1. The sinking ship Dumno and Najib want to ensure all winning BN MPs and ADUNs will not abandon him to join PH. When PH wins and takes over Putrajaya Najib and Rosmah shall be the first to be arrested and investigated for massive corruptions and power abuse.

  2. All promised projects during or before GE13 and which were officially declared by Umno Baru controlled BN government but yet to built must be investigated under the Anti Fake Law because they were false promises and fake declarations.

  3. After 60 years in power, Umno is still playing the race and religious card.

First, they keep working at DAP that it was a Chinese chauvinist party. When that didn’t work too well because more and more Malays are joining the party, they now say it is the Christians who want to dominate.

Come on, have some originality in your approach when appealing for votes. These two subjects are so overplayed, they sound worse than broken records.
