Why aren’t you asking PM, Chin?

IF SUPP president Peter Chin refuses to meet Najib over the “Oct 11 meeting”, it would just mean that he had defied the PM’s directive not to sack party members.

The only way to resolve the impasse between factions in Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) is for president Peter Chin to meet with Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and clarify the “Oct 11 meeting” the premier had with rival Wong Soon Koh and team.

The continued “refusal” by the Chin to clarify matters with the PM will only mean that he defied the latter’s directive, said SUPP Sibu branch yesterday. (more…)

‘How would I know, I was not there’

SUPP president Peter Chin said members are free to express their views on the disciplinary committee’s decision.

Sarawak United Peoples Party (SUPP) president Peter Chin has denied knowledge of claims by a rival faction that Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak had assured them that there would be no sackings whilst the party was undergoing a Registrar of Societies (ROS) probe.

“(Since) I was not at the meeting, how could I possibly know (what transpired),” said Chin in response to claims by former party deputy-secretary general Wong Soon Koh. (more…)

Sarawak Workers Party in troubled waters ?

Trouble is said to be brewing in the five-month old Sarawak Workers Party apparently stirred up by financial problems as three members of its supreme council are quitting, an inside source revealed today.

Even some of its potential candidates, including Ellison Ludan, a lecturer tipped to vie against Aaron Dagang in Kanowit are said to be taking the feet off the gas pedal of their political activities for the same reason, he said.

The source said: “Many of its workers and singers accompanying them to longhouses have complained that they have not been paid their promised allowances. (more…)
