Anwar in quandary over Baru Bian’s post

Keruah Usit

PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim is being subjected to a “fierce SMS campaign” urging him to remove national PKR vice-president Baru Bian as state party chief, according to sources close to the party.

Over the past week, there has been intense lobbying for Granda Aing, state PKR vice-chairman, to replace Baru Bian, a well-known land rights lawyer, as Sarawak PKR chief.

Having helmed the Sarawak PKR liaison committee for a little over a year, Baru Bian has a number of party rivals working against him despite making some headway in the campaign against the ruling BN coalition.

“Within the short period of time, Baru has raised the standard on the challenge mounted against the state BN,” said a political scientist who follows Sarawak politics closely.

NONE“No wonder the Sarawak chief minister, and BN at the national level, are working even harder in their desperate attempt to retain Sarawak in the upcoming state election.”

According to a party leader, the PKR political bureau met last night ostensibly to confirm Baru Bian as state PKR chief, but the SMS drive appears to have thrown the appointment into doubt. There will be another meeting tomorrow.

“It seems like Anwar is still in two minds,” said the political observer.

“Anwar’s main political weakness is that he is still living in the old PKR trying to be inclusive in the appointment of leaders and selection of candidates,” he said, referring to how the relatively unknown Granda Aing is even being considered.

“Anwar has obviously not learned to accept the ground realities.”

The two leaders in Sarawak PKR have separate approaches to state politics.

Baru Bian has put emphasis on the native customary rights (NCR) to land and linking such rights to the broader rights of Sarawakians, a pressing issue among all ethnic groups: Dayak, Malay and Chinese.

He has also won several celebrated court cases on behalf of rural NCR landowners against the state government and its favoured logging and oil palm plantation companies.

“Baru Bian has the image of not just being a humble man and a justice-minded politician but his integrity has broad base appeal among the public.”

The political observer was referring to Baru’s high-profile land rights cases which cut across racial boundaries, including a landmark victory for Mohd Rambli Kawi, whose Malay land rights were also illegally infringed by the state BN government.

Granda lacks public appeal

Meanwhile, Granda, a Bidayuh from Bau, has spoken out strongly for his own community, but he does not have the same public appeal throughout the state.

He had weighed into an internal BN debate over the non-appointment of a Bidayuh as chairman of the Padawan Municipal Council, without realising that he had been drawn into the divisive polemic of racial politics.

“Coming from a PKR vice-chairman, a party professing to be non-racial, it just shows how BN-type of people are very much alive and kicking in PKR,” observed a Sarawakian blogger who criticised Granda in the popular Sarawak blog ‘Hornbill Unleashed’.

“If Anwar picks Granda over Baru, then Anwar is doomed to repeat his destructive path and Sarawak will continue to be under the corrupt BN for another 50 years,” said the blogger.

“Baru is the obvious leader to take on Sarawak’s ruling BN,” said the political analyst.

“He has spearheaded a PKR campaign that gained much momentum in Sarawak, especially by making use of all alternative information to great effect, such as the Sarawak Report and Radio Free Sarawak, which have disseminated reports of alleged wealth and land grabs by Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud.”

NONEThe PKR under Baru Bian has overseen the distribution of tens of thousands of pamphlets and VCDs containing information form theSarawak Report, which have made the BN extremely edgy, as attested to by yesterday’s arrests of Dayak activists in possession of these compact discs.

“The BN has reacted in a big way, and I dare say the spread of information has thrown Taib’s leadership into doubt, with reports of (premier) Najib Razak wanting Taib to step down,” the political observer said.

“Baru’s public record over the last two decades has gained him many friends, locally and abroad, and from non-partisan Sarawakian groups who have now turned Pakatan-friendly,” he said.

“The fact that Anwar’s choice of leader can determine how Sarawak will perform in the upcoming state election speaks volumes of the sense of helplessness that Sarawakians must feel, especially after almost 50 years of BN.”

  1. I hope Anwar will not make the same mistake as he did in Sabah, by-passing Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan as the State PKR of Sabah, by appointing unknown and unpopular figures like Thamrin and Ansari. Those sms he received may be from within the BN people which intended to weaken Sarawak PKR by removing Baru Bian. Baru has been at the helm in sarawak for some time now and he has done an excellent job, and if he is replaced now, his supporters will leave to go for another party with him and PKR, and especially Anwar will be on the losing side.

  2. Often, our views are clouded by hearsay, rhetoric and half-truths. Like half bricks, half-truths can be thrown further.

Anwar is a seasoned statesman and smarter than any of us who write or read on this blog. Has anyone of us on this blog been covered by the world’s most influential media channel? Has anyone of us earned the honor of giving lectures at some of the world’s top universities?

He must have made his choice well.

Here we are, pundits and trolls on blogs throwing half bricks, manufacturing inflammatory rhetoric and blood libel that serves only to incite the very factionalism and hatred that we purport to condemn.

You can’t even pretend to know Granda and you’re already calling him names. If you know the man and his sacrifices for the party, what would you say to his face? May be you only know Baru Bian through his popularity in the alternative media about his few court cases. There’re many people out there, some of whom I’ve associated with, have accomplished much much more than Baru Bian. And they do it quietly. You’re only guessing what you know about Granda and at that, you choose to to pick on the potentially libel negatives.

Let’s not judge by a few court cases and popularity in the blogs. What’s the excuse for BB losing in previous elections despite his “well-known-ness”?

What you also don’t know is that, Granda adviced and persuaded Anwar to pick Baru Bian. Granda had never intended to take up such post in PKR, although he is fully qualified himself as an organizational builder and has contributed to the party far beyond what any of you in Sarawak have. PKR has grown because of the work of the very few dedicated and selfless people like Granda while the rest of you whine away.

Baru Bian emerges triumphant and stronger only because Granda made him.

    • Well,in my opinion…at first, we all dont know who are both of them before…
so,frankly to say…what we can see is what we can judge…if Mr.Granda stayed low profile before..Then,its his problem because politic is not about doing things but doing and seen as a proof so people will see and judge and be part of history.but for what i can see,he(Mr.Baru Bian) is also stayed low profile but because he is the head of Sarawak PKR,he need to step forward and be on public. However, “Baru Bian emerges triumphant and stronger only because Granda made him?”.Well, Baru Bian dont goes up with empty handed. He is a qualified lawyer from UK and also He struggled himself to get into position that he have now. So, can u still tell me that Granda made him?about the information which Mr.Granda adviced and persuaded Anwar to pick Baru Bian, its has no proof.Well,if its true, then why need to persuade or adviced??Because Mr.Baru is not such a common leader, he is someone who Mr.Granda trust. So, can u tell me why we need to follow what the sms said rather than Mr. Granda itself..by the way, u cant say popularity in blogs and a few court cases is just a well-known-ness/he never want a popularity because he won few cases, but he fight what he think is rights and that should not be called well-known-ness(that is sacrifices coz he do it to protect the rights of the sarawakian people).Never say something that related with sacrifices with well-known-ness after this.I doesnt suit each other.
However, its doesnt matter who want to rule this land….but, let it be a good leader..because believe me…no matter how far you gain everything in this world, eventually youll die someday…so,do good, stays good…God Bless Sarawak..

  3. Yes,Baru Bian is the most suitable PKR Chief and Sarawakians, who have long been ignored, deprived and neglected by BN surely need a leader like him.

2.PKR must enlarge its’ image in Sarawak, let people at every central point and corner of Sarawak know and believe PKR is active, brave, impartial, not corrupted and fully accredited to form the next Sarawak Government.

3.It’s no-easy task bringing down Sarawak BN if there are leaders in PKR still thinking of becoming Sarawak PKR Chief. Leaders must co-operate. It’s better to dream forming the next Sarawak Government or at least to win some seats than to dream becoming Sarawak PKR Chief.

4.Holly Guardians of Gunung Murut and her siblings have said that Baru Bian is given the right to win Ba Kelalan in 2011 so he can protect the area and Sarawak.

Oh…. fellow supporters of PKR, we are still on the way and almost reach our destination. We know what will happen if there is a split on the road.

  9. Granda Aing? Who?

We thought he wants to remain low profile and serve quietly with the grace of god? Maybe those who are lobbying for him to replace Sdr Baru Bian has forgotten his Text Message to the above effect?

What is their agenda to rock the boat at this point of time?

Before all else, Granda Aing should himself come clean and clarify his relationship with the former Secretary General of SPDP, YB Sylvester Entri (source of this information SPDP Insider at the height of SPDP 5 Crisis).

All eyes will be on the National Leadership at PKR HQ at Tropicana.

Will they make the same mistake as what happened at Batang Ai By Election in 2009, where factional in-fighting resulted in sabotage of PKR’s campaign against BN.

That incident was a complete sham and has let many Sarawakians down when expectations was high for PKR and Pakatan Rakyat to make inroads in rural Sarawak.

If Sdr Baru Bian is being replaced, we are of the opinion that PKR might as well close shop in Sarawak and pro-reform members should regroup under either DAP, PAS and SNAP to continue with our struggle.

We smell a rat and an agenda by those proposing Granda Aing to replace Sdr Baru Bian now that the prospect of toppling Abdul Taib Mahmud is bright?

Abdul Taib Mahmud do not fear Granda Aing. Abdul Taib Mahmud fear Sdr Baru Bian and the evidence is there base on recent activity at Ba’ Kelalan where DPM, Muhyddin made a visit recently and PM Najib is scheduled to do the same.

  10. On the bright side: no news is bad news. Send zillions of SMS, write partisan piece on BB and GA, launch a pro BB and pro GA media blitz, why not ? See, that way – the credentials of both against the supposed nemesis of both can be spread outward loud and clear. Of course, there is a danger that this will create confusion among supporters if not properly orchestrated and administered by communication professionals, just like the recent PKR party elections. And of course, internal political party struggle would also always challenge the party leadership, and test whether it has enough ideological capital to compel the warring parties to submit to a common ideological goal.

On another thought: if one can forget about the supposed key stakeholder in all these – those sent the SMS, Anwar, Granda, Baru – but instead look at the broader political architecture, there is something to be said about the Pakatan political system.

First: regardless of how good Baru is, the fact remains that he was an appointed VP albeit in compliance with PKR party constitution. Therefore, obviously his position within PKR is only as strong as that of the Party President who appointed him. What should have happened is for Baru to have been elected into his position. But thats would never happened since pragmatic politics suggest that PKR Sarawak may never have enough strength to secure a VP position. In the long term, even if Pakatan Rakyat were to wrest control of the Federal Government, I dare say without blinking to think, his capacity to fight for Sarawak interest within Pakatan, will amount to nought. The fact that BB did not get elected into his position, is a precursor of future decision making, in so far as the Fed-State issue.

Second; as follow-up to the first point – as a matter of general political commentary, if Pakatan Rakyat component parties are serious about “devolving” the Federation, into a Confederate of autonomous region of Malaya,Sabah and Sarawak, then the component parties would have structured themselves to allow internal party elections within each region to be elected VP; preferably in equal numbers. In such a structure, then Azmin platitudinal outburst about supporting Sabah and Sarawak in Bintulu would meant something, and Anwar ealier proposal to have a Deputy Prime Minister catering to Sabah and Sarawak, would have organisational credibility.

Third; given the previous 2 points – if it is presumed that Anwar would exercise his preorgative to replace Baru Bian, in the interest of political expediency – he will still have to exercise that authority with extreme caution. No doubt he will have to weigh the gains and the pain.In the last Sibu by-election,it was reputed that the Sarawak electorates (esp rural) would be swayed quite easily by the Malaya versus Sarawak-based political party issue. If the “political gain”, is merely in placating GA supporters (at the expense of Baru’s), and on the strength of the SMS campaign alone, at that – then Anwar should be kindly sent to a psychiatric facility to check the reasons for the flip-flop.Even if the “political gain” is compelling, most people would like to see that Baru is the one making the decision to pull back, given that he was appointed only recently. And of course as many have observers has commented: it is not smart for any sole political leadership to have to decide on all the major decisions in the party, as that would mean that the party will not outlive him/her.

All considered: this could very well portend something good …. although I think that PR thought leaders must recognize by now that in the long term, they will need to restructure along regional confederate, to give Sarawak and Sabah legitimate (“autonomous”) political voice, to differentiate themselves from the BN structure which vividly shows racial AS WELL as geographical(Malaya) domination of national politics.

The Selangor SUK issue is hyperventilating everyone across the water. The Sultan of the States other than Penang, Malacca, Sabah and Sarawak have to receive the Fed errand boy the Chief Fed Sec who brings the message to the State Sultan and the CM is not expected to be concerned but to be out on the golf course. So who sent the Chief Fed Sec? I don’t know lah. I’m looking for my caddie in OB looking for my ball. Who cares? Long live the republic of virtue! 😆

The Native Women’s Political Caucus will comprise Native women with specific knowledge and interest areas that can be tapped to fill state and federal commissions and boards and to provide a voice on a variety of issues important to Native women: health care, retention and preservation of culture, employment, violence against women and strong educational programs for youth.

Native women across the country should be working to create positive change at all levels of government!

From his qualifications, his character, his popularity and his track record, I say he is the best person to lead PKR Sarawak. If PR wins the next Sarawak State Election, he is the best person to be the next Chief Minister of Sarawak. DS Anwar should throw all his support behind Baru Bian and not changes horses in mid-stream, or else Sarawak PKR will drown.

  16. PREDICTIONS ON FORTHCOMING SARAWAK EVENTS BY BOMOH RAKYAT

There is a certain tension in the air in Sarawak almost like that in December 1962 when there was a gathering storm as 2 unreconcilable opposing sides faced up each other on the “Malaysia” independence issue.

On this occasion the Brunei Independence Uprising broke out on 8th December in opposition to the British plan to transfer the colonies of Brunei Sabah and Sarawak to Malayan rule . The anniversary of this historic date passed unnoticed a month ago.

The arrest of 4 activists has managed to just stirred up the seething masses especially in the ulu and send out the signals to get ready for what may come. The authorities could easily have ignited the flame that is waiting to explode in Sarawak as in 1962. The secret police wisely decided not to press charges but just gave the activists some warnings.

This is a very common thing for them to do to intimidate opposition people all the time on behalf of UMNO BN.

In this day and age with the speed of communications and more ploticially sophisticated citizens. there is a high expectations of getting a clean government these sort of tactics just don’t go done well at all. This is seen in the widespread campaign to abolish the ISA and now the Sedition Act.

A lot of things are happening to the Opposition especially PKR in the West and also East and these are not coincidences. PKR represents the most serious challenge to UMNO’s hold on power since 1957.

Against this restless background some predictions are made. Actually it is no magic- anyone thinking person can see what is coming.

Prediction 1. One can sense from the sudden upheavals in PKR or Pakatan that there are a few planted devils in the Party with the unseen hand of UMNO is in the background.

UMNO has the Special Branch which is skilled at countering the communists and knows how to create internal dissension. It may explain some of the leadership problems in PKR.

PKR would be an easy target for the SB which could penetrate the CPM! This brings to question the role of the SB as political force behind UMNO and its powerful role in being a king maker!

Should SB be involved in politics? It has been for 60 years- the instrument of the British and then UMNO in suppressing the opposition – above ground and underground. The recommendation is that it should not be involved and if they continue they expect to face certain consequences (this is a side prediction). Once the ISA is abolished its powers to act may be more restricted.

The leadership contentions have happened to PKR in Malaya Sabah and now Sarawak close to the elections.

Could it be deliberately done to create the impression that Pakatan is not united and hence confusing the voters? UMNO is already saying that the opposition is disunited and cannot be trusted to form a stable government. Will the Rakyat continue to swallow their poisoned words?

PKR needs to firm up its leadership and expel untrustworthy people or it will be engulfed in more internal breakups which is what UMNO wants. Unfortunately embarking on a purge will give rise to more problems. The other problem is that planted agents if elected can sell out PKR by changing sides and weaken it.

In Sarawak the leadership of Baru Bian has been challenged by an unknown politician.

How could a leadership challenge be launched with so many sms text messages? Who is paying for them?

    Look at this seriously!

Prediction 2. One also senses that popular Radio Free Sarawak operators may have been got at by the SB which may force RFS to suspend broadcasts. This is as serious breach of freedom of speech.

Prediction 3. Everyone also senses that there might be a crackdown before the election as shown by the arrests of the 4 Sarawak Activists. This is partly due to the fact that the Opposition is being more effective as a united force and its message is reaching the ulu masses iningenuous ways..

Prediction 4. If there is a severe suppression of the widespread dissent in Sarawak this will not go down well with the oppressed Dayak masses who are very ANGRY with Malayan rule and have been agitating for real independence. One need not emphasise how angry they are!

This demand for independence arises from the realisation that the independdence in Malaysia has meant 47 years of land grabs and plunder of native land. This is underscored by the recent disclosure that Petronas has been secretly pillaging hundreds of billions of dollars worth of Sarawak oil every year without giving any of the money to Sarawak people. This is already an extremely sore point with Sarawakians to say the least.

Looking at the crystal ball, if (2) and (3) above are launched by the Special Branch, this may have some predictable responses.

    (a) The Dayaks will not take kindly to suppression of their people’s popular organisations like SADIA and its leadership.

    (b) The Dayak reaction is unpredictable. It needs a certain spark to start a jungle fire. There are a few Dayaks people albeit a minority who are talking about taking up arms.

Now why would the Special Branch want to start a jungle fire which it knows it cannot stop once ignted by its actions? SB well knows the capability of Sarawak’s famed Dayak jungle fighters who if not for them would have seen Malaya facing a communist victory long ago. If a jungle war is started by the Special Branch the Malayan occupation army may have to get out of Sarawak very fast. This may make the South Kalimantan massacre look like a picnic in terms of Malayan casualties.

    (c) An all out suppression of the opposition and NGos will ignite that spark which did not ignite for 50 years with the armed uprising against Malaysia.

2011 will be an interesting year.

For that matter SNAP should do the same and by rebranding itself is the first step to strengthen its resolve to work with Pakatan partners to wrest power from BN.Pakatan should work harder and select the right candidates although the choice might be tough but the rakyat expect the best. The Malays and Melanaus are awakening too and Pakatan as a cohesive coalition can win 45 to 48 seats, according to my SB friend.

    Look at this matter seriously!

This is partly due to the fact that the Opposition is becoming more effective as a united force and its message is reaching the ulu masses in more creative ways..

Prediction 4. If there is a severe suppression of the leadership of widespread dissent in Sarawak this will not go down well with the oppressed Dayak masses who are very ANGRY with Malayan rule and have been agitating for real independence.

One need not emphasise how angry they are! The authorities are very aware and PKR has gone to the extent of promising “full autonomy” to keep Sarawak in Malaysia.

Petronas’ theft of Sarawak oil is no surprise and is already an extremely sore point with Sarawakians to say the least.

Looking at the crystal ball, if the actions in (3) and (4) above are launched by the Special Branch, this may have some predictable responses.

This could spread fast once the action commences.

Now why would the Special Branch want to start a jungle fire which it knows it cannot stop once ignted by its actions? It is not to its master’s interest (or is it the real master?)

SB knows full well the capability of Sarawak’s famed Dayak jungle fighters who if not for them would have seen Malaya facing a communist victory long ago. If a jungle war is started by the Special Branch the Malayan occupation army may have to get out of Sarawak very fast. This may make the South Kalimantan massacre look like a picnic in terms of Malayan casualties.

    (c) An all out suppression of the opposition and NGOs will also ignite that spark which did not really ignite for 50 years with the armed uprising against Malaysia and waiting to be re-ignited.

The last prediction is that Sarawak and Sabah will eventually free themselves from Malayan rule and become independent states as Southern Sudan may be close to achieving by 9th January 2011.

2011 will be an interesting year.

May the force be with the forces for justice and freedom!

    • That is what UMNO or BN want us to believe that there are injustice and internal conflicts in PKR. Even we can see with our own eyes that it appears to be true but we all know the truth that the conflicts are created by elements planted inside PKR to distract and distrupt the party from making inroads into UMNO or BN strongholds.

We shall support the leadership of PKR and work with DAP, PAS and SNAP to achieve a resounding victory over UMNO led BN and have Taib Mahmud arrested for abuse of his position and massive corruptions.

  21. LEADERSHIP MATTERS.Leadership is also about making the right decision, about accepting tough choices. Why must Datuk Seri Anwar be bothered with faceless people within or planted in PKR Sarawak ? These are cowards hiding behind SMS who try to create a leadership crisis in the party which is growing in strength. Baru Bian is the right choice and has the leadership quality to lead PKR in forming a formidable force in PR4 against BN.

If any individuals have his or her own reasons for not recognising Baru Bian as their state leader, they should be bold enough to write to the Secretary General or President of the party instead of inciting others in using sms to protest against the proven leadershgip of Baru Bian.

  22. Dear Anwar don’t pick this unknown Granda Aing. You already lost the battle even before the state election. There is something fishy in this intense SMS campagin.I strongly believe this SMS campagin is conducted by none other than BN paid cyber troppers.IT IS SIMPLE.When you can”t destroy a party from outside than you work from inside.Same like what they do to PKR.

  25. Looks like Anwar is back at his old UMNO “divide and rule” trick. Baru and Garenda… you must not allow your current good teamwork/PKR be divided. Why change guard when the election is just around the corner? Why Granda when Baru is doing a good job?

  26. Granda Aing and Baru Bian have the same visions which are protecting the Folks and Sarawakian’s RIGHTS.No doubt they are both good and respected by the people in their own community

Granda Aing slams Manyin for “stupid” statement

KUCHING: A leader of Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat has described as most “stupid and senseless” a suggestion by a state minister who wants the Bidayuhs to move to town even if they are paid lowly.

A PKR vice chairman Granda Aing said that by asking them to move out of their villages “is tantamount to putting the general Bidayuhs to become coolies, waiters and waitress earning a salary below the poverty line.”

Aing, a Bidayuh from Bau, was reacting to a statement made by Michael Manyin, State minister of infrastructure development and communication.

Last Tuesday Manyin, who addressed Kampung Krusen Bidayuhs, told them to leave their villages and go to towns for jobs in the towns in order to improve their livelihood.

“If they are unwilling to do so, they may be left far behind by other communities.

“Even if they have to struggle now it does not matter as it would provide their children the right exposure to improve themselves in the future,” Manyin had said, citing the Kelabits from the Bario Highlands as the best example.

“That is the most stupid advice coming from a minister,” said Aing.

What the government should have done is to increase the wages of the Bidayuh workers in Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Salcra) from RM8.00 or RM10.00 per day per worker to RM30.00 per day in its oil palm plantations.

“Why can’t you pay Bidayuhs RM30.00 per person when you pay Indonesian workers RM30.00 each?” he asked.

“That does not make sense. Does it?” Aing asked, pointing out that the government must look and revamp Salcra.

He warns: “If you leave your villages, the State government will take away your native customary rights land and lease it to its cronies for the planting of oil palm.

“By the time you return home, you have no more land left. I think the minister has been asked to say it, because lands in the Bidayuh villages are good for the oil palm cultivation,” he said.

The minister should not compare the Bidayuhs with the Kelabits, as most Bidayuh villages are nearby to towns, while the Kelabits a far away in the highlands.

“What the minister should have done is to get more roads and basic amenities implemented in the rural areas.

“Help them to plant cash crops in their land so that they can generate more incomes in order to sustain their life in the villages,” he said.

What Granda Aing said is correct. Look at some of the Iban small holders involved in the planting of oil palm. Many are earning between RM3,000 and RM10,000 a month. There are many examples of these successful farmers along the Serian/Sarikei Road. And their incomes much are better than those who allowed their land to be used by Pelita and other private companies. Some have not been paid any dividends even after 10 years of operation.

SALCRA is still better than all these Pelita-linked companies. But still compared to small holdings whereby you plant oil palm in your own land, and do it yourself the income is much better than the income of those who joined Salcra.

      • Granda I believe will be gracious in supporting Baru Bian to make PKR a strong and respected party and a partner in Pakatan Sarawak. BN element is working round the clock to destabilise the party and discredit its leadership. Sarawakian voters especially in the rural interior know how sincere BB has been working tirelessly to save their NCR lands from the white crocodile and cronies. My grandfather who lives in Lubok Antu wanted me to remind all Dayaks to support leaders like Baru Bian to defeat Taib and BN.

    • The rakyat will help PKR leadership disposed of the trojan horse in the party. No matter what, we shall vote for PKR,PAS,SNAP and DAP candidates in the coming election. We trust the Pakatan coalition to select their best candidates. Somehow, I tend to agree with some comments about taking Dominique Ng and Wan Zainal out of the lineup. My gut feelings are that these two have compromised their conviction and commitment to PKR and Pakatan and could be have been used by unseen hands to cause aspersion on the character and integrity of party leaders.

  28. I don’t care who becomes the CM. All I want is to get rid of the corrupted and evil Taib and all his cronies, especially the lapdogs like George Chan, Masing, Linggi, etc, before they destroy Sarawak with their immoral and unscrupulous behaviour. They are not there to serve the people but themselves and their relatives. TIME FOR CHANGE – IT’S LONG OVER DUE!

  31. Well, all said and done. Baru Bain is still the people’s choice. All PKR & PR are ready for the battle to win the hearts of Sarawkians. It is now or never. All positions are in place and battle must go on.
Remember the enemies are all over the place and the first to kill off is the Head. So all the bad things being done & said about the PR leaders including this BBain. So Anwar must not change leaders now or else the battle for state election will be in slow mode again. In the end BN will died laughing.
Hurray Baru Bain and keep up the good work. We all want you to lead this most important battle and win the WAR. Hu HU hurray.

  34. Baru Bian has already built the political momentum for Sarawak.

He’s clean & clear. Sarawak BN fears NCL issue most of all.

Talk NCL and you think of Baru Bian. Baru is NCL. NCL is Baru.

With apology to the creator, but Granda looks like a pirate. Who want to vote for a pirate’s party. If both approach me to sell something, I will buy from Baru.

Knowing Baru has already made the headway, the evil BN will direct all his “secret moles” in PKR to kill off Baru.

The battle for Sarawak had already began three years back. Baru worked silently. And with six months to the state election (the battle), PKR will lose Sarawak if it changes its proven General (Baru Bian) now.

BN Sarawak is now at its weakest point. 63 seats can be won by PKR under Baru. You change General now, the 63 seats will end up with BN.

Lose Sarawak and you lose Putrajaya.

Even God sends you the signal. Baru Bian = BB = Big Bang that kill off the evil BN. Granda Aing = GA = God Almighty for BN.

By the way, I never met nor talked to Baru before. All analysis from news. E&OE =Errors & ommission expected.

But for sure. If Baru not heading PKR Sarawak, me NewHope will appear as NoHope with NoTomorrow. And also no more “New Government. New Hope.”

    Maybe…..1Malaysia? ……Barang Nice?

  35. Anwar does not have a good report in selecting capable leaders, does he? Seems to smack of hit and miss, judging by the fact that he picked Zaid, who turned out to be totally uncontrollable and a loose canon, who when he could not get the position he thought was his due, decided to try bring Anwar and the party down. Yet he also picked Chua Jui Meng, who from all reports appears to be an effective leaders and making inroads in UMNO’s stronghold, Johore.

Is PKR leadership consists of Anwar alone? Does he have honest and reliable people on the ground in Sarawak on whom he can call upon to assist in assessing the performance of the respective leaders.

The occasional reports one reads that featured Baru Bian, did give the impression he is effective in establishing a foot hold for PKR in Sarawak, when compared against Kitingan in Sabah.

PR does indeed have a good opportunity to take a good number of seats from BN in the coming state election, if not actually toppling Barisan, because the stench of Taib’s corruption is indeed being effectively propagated by The Sarawak Report and Radio Sarawak. Hope Anwar does not got shoot himself in his foot again!

  36. Granda Aing is actively promoted by Datuk Sallehuddin Hashim. When DSAI was appointed economic advisor to Selangor Government, he was lobbying for a major project and was promised one to finance Sarawak PKR in the forthing coming 10th State Election. That however maybe derailed as the project was divided into 5 packages going to foreign companies. Not sure if he is appointed as a sub contractor.

At the height of SPDP Crisis, there was news that Granda Aing was working together with Sylvester Entri on a land matter in Bintulu. This turns out to be the State of Selangor’s Oil Palm Plantation covering 11,000 acres which is in the market for apprpximately RM180 million, that is at RM16,000 per acre.

    Why Sylvester Entri?

It could be his links with James Masing by virtue of him being in the Ministry headed by James Masing (at one point of time or is he still the Assistant Agriculture Minister in Sarawak). Are they trying to get Sime Darby to invest in this Plantation for well over RM180 million?

With this what is the possible scenario?

Granda Aing over the Bidayuh issue have been very vocal and had a spate with DAP to the point of threatening to pull the Bidayuh’s out of PKR. This have not gone down well with PKR Leaders at Merchant Square Tropicana.

However, DSAI choose to be silent over this. His comment was this is Politics.

Hence with PRS+5 (total of 18 state seats) coupled with James Masing’s brazen attack against Taib and Jabu as rumoured, there is a high possiblity that James Masing, Sylvester Entri and Granda Aing will feature prominently in who forms the next state government should Pakatan Rakyat make inroads and increase their numbers to 15 seats or more.

After all Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe was in the 916 group to topple the federal government.
