Under Najib, politics in Malaysia has lost all sense of decency and sensibility

J. D. Lovrenciear

Even before the courts can dish a verdict of guilty or innocent, the political marauders have already gone into overdrive plundering at a man, father, husband, friend, leader – and above all a Malaysian who has the solid support of honorable leaders from the Opposition political divide and many examplary individuals all across the globe.

Truly, by any perspective you look at the politics in Malaysia, we have lost all decency, sensibility and in place are wallowing in a sordid state of scum.

The most recent is the currently broiling sensation involving the widely subscribed and popular blog of Raja Petra Kamaruddin (RPK) – Malaysia Today and its architect.

The amount of national time, national resources and ink and paper and blog space that has gone into bashing this one man – Anwar Ibrahim is probably far more greater than that of Watergate Scandal involving Nixon or the more recent in memory, that of the Clinton-Lewinsky episode.

Suddenly, he is a long-time confirmed gay

If ever there is to be an international award for the ‘Most Outrageous Politically Laced Sex Scandal’ competition, Malaysia will be the crown-grabber and probably be the only contestant.

Whichever way we look at it, for argument’s sake, what so wrong if DSAI is a gay? And if he is a confirmed long-time gay, how come UMNO in the first place endorsed, enlisted, groomed and nurtured him during the Mahathir era? Worst, Mahathir himself paraded to the world that Anwar was his sole and only worthy Deputy, after having sacked other predecessors.

Only when the Financial Crisis helmed-in, suddenly Anwar is a gay! Even any heavenly revelation would have lost to this drama of the centuries.

Any by any account what is the gross difference between a gay and a straight-sex man who takes advantage of the weaker sex who are minors?

Or for that matter, what of those who discreetly keep more than their rightfully wedded wives as sex toys? Are there none in our society?

Or how about those who steal another man or woman’s spouse under the camouflage of divorce and re-marry? Are these approved sins? Do we not have such examples within the seemingly sacred tabernacles of the power corridors of UMNO and BN?

The whole of Lorong Haji Taib is stinking to high heavens right to this day with pondan-sex-for-sale day and night. This is of no national concern, but Anwar is?

Or how about the upper-class joineries splashed all along Bukit Bintang and Petaling Street? Sex-for-sale is a booming business here. And who says that our 5-Star hotels are free of sins against the flesh? Are these pardonable and should therefore be condoned, encouraged and therefore remain protected?

Voters are not fools

Let us not think that the electorate are fools. Let us also not run away with the notion that Malaysians cannot think. Above all we must stop playing God.

If and when politics sinks to the lowest ebb mired in misplaced sex and lust bashing strategies; when it grovels in the pit of personal morality issues while the national socio-landscape is punctured with flesh trade, we have lost everything sane and sensible.

Indeed we are hypocrites of the highest order, nothing less really.

Let then the first man (or woman) who has never sinned in whatsoever way, be the first to cast the stone at Anwar Ibrahim. And let that person be reminded too that prophets in the past have admonished that even prostitutes are worthy of merit when there is remorse.

It is a shame. It is a disgrace. It is a reputation disaster for Malaysia in the global eyes when our political battle strategies against opponents are drawn with sex-tainted allegations.

Truly Malaysia stands out as the only country in the world today that is so preoccupied these past several years doing political battle by using sex as the batter against one man.

Therein rests the true state of Malaysian politics, Malaysian leadership and Malaysian governance. How are we going to capture our history for the generations to come?

  1. In Malaysia where the country is run by a corrupt, abusive, repressive and oppressive UMNO controlled BN, the highest Court is the PM of Malaysia. He can make an innocent individual guilty and a guilty individual innocent.

  2. All discerning and principled Malaysians will automatically stop reading Malaysia Today. Let us move on with our life with the only one resolve to kick out the corrupted and oppressive UMNO dominated BN in GE 13. Vote Pakatan Rakyat.

  3. RPK has never been sent into exile by the gov. He is a run-away criminal, self-style or even UMNO sponsored blogger. He has now opened wide his undercover UMNO spy. This guy”raja” is a useless fellow , unfit to untie Anwar’s shoe lasses. DSAI is an icon of freedom for the down-trodden victims of UMNO racism, ….. a man of principle and a courage fighter for truth and justice…& even if Najib finds him guilty on Jan 9th verdict, there will be hundreds if not thousands who will carry his legacy and principles. RPK has lost many friends and he is a fellow who just cannot be trusted–he is a born loser and a gone case.Just wish that he will just rot away in his imaginary self-perceived exile.”money sucker”.

  4. So what if anyone is gay? Like the recent song from Lady Gaga, ” I was born this way “. Why ostracise anyone who is gay? Gays also need to earn a decent living other than being street hookers?

  5. What was purportedly done to Saiful by DSAI was also done to ALTANTUYA by one VVVVVIP before her murder. Bala’s affidavit said that ALTANTUYA said so. Hello, what say you?

    • What was purportedly done by Mamakutty to enrich his children and cronies was also done by Abdullah Badawi,, Najib and Muhyiddin.

If this garmen is not voted out, you have foreigners making money at dirt cheap labor, just like RPK who is a voting British citizen. Don’t matter if hes royalty who are parasites mostly and are crooks anyway. On the other hand Najib gives out RM100 to student which is more than RM50 Dayak voters got. So does anybody think former PM Razak was better than his thieving children?

  6. Anwar can be “guilty” in the eyes of men if is alleged to have abused his good office as DPM under mahathir and made millions of illgotten monies for himself. But no. Here we have Anwar accused of sodomy. And the complainant himself said in court that he had been sodomised many times and for a long period of time. This “long period of time” must mean since he started working as an aid to Anwar. This evidence in itself is an admission of consent in the act alleged. And irrespective that the offence of Sodomy is in the Penal Code, the act between consenting adults should only be sin against God. Indeed such act cannot cause any loss to the country unlike corruptions and abuse of power that certainly do.

Now that RPK has also joined UMNO’s bandwagon of “building the public’s perception” against Anwar, and has sadly started singing the very UMNO’s tune, he is adding nothing new to what malaysians have already been used to be fed with by the government controlled media. RPK would be better welcomed if he out in excile in UK came out with something entirely new that he had picked up in a foreign land where most malaysian do not even dream of visiting, let alone making it a second home. When he came out with a stale news RPK is not only abusing the laws of this country by fleeing away from possible imprisonment here in Malaysia, he has abused the goodwill of a friendly country, UK, and for far too long. He makes himself “above the law”, and that is an abuse of the rule of law. Therefore what right has he to condemn Anwar? Anwar first underwent the Sodomy I, stayed in prison, been arrested, and put under ISA and presently is fighting the charge of Sodomy II. Certainly RPK, even in carrying the name “Raja”, is not fit to criticise Anwar. He can forget it – RPK is not even “fit to untie the shoelace of Anwar’s shoes”.

  7. We the people of Malaysia are the REAL BOSS. These ruling ” elite class” crap has got to stop. They are destroying our country with lies upon lies.
We need to have really strong opposition party no matter who wins, so we the people can kick any “elite “scum out anytime we want.
